Step behind the page
This is where readers, creatives, and fellow indie authors can find current opportunities to work with or alongside M. Allshouse. Open calls may include beta and ARC reading, creative collaborations, service exchanges, editing availability, reader feedback opportunities, and other projects as they arise.
Opportunities change over time, so check back whenever you’re curious about what’s currently open.
Current reader opportunities
Beta and ARC calls will appear here when applications are open. Each opportunity will include details about the project, expectations, timeline, and who may be the best fit.
As of the moment, After Eden beta reading has been closed while the selected crew makes their way through the Garden. ARCs are expected to open up sometime around in January.
Creative collaborations & barter
Some of the best creative work begins with one person saying, “Okay, hear me out.”
I’m open to collaboration proposals from artists, authors, designers, bookish creators, and other creatives whose work might pair well with mine. If you have an idea for something we could create together, promote together, exchange skills on, or generally make more interesting by joining forces, I want to hear the pitch.
Have an idea for a collaboration? Pitch it to me. Tell me what you have in mind, what you’d bring to the project, what you’re looking for from me, and why you think we’d be a good creative match. I’m especially interested in collaborations that feel mutually beneficial rather than purely transactional.
Currently seeking: I’m looking to barter professional editing services in exchange for original character artwork for After Eden. I’m particularly interested in finding an artist who connects with the dark, atmospheric nature of the story and can create artwork of Eva and Cain for use in promotional and author-platform content. The exact scope of both the artwork and editing exchange can be discussed based on the artist’s needs and rates so we can build a fair trade on both sides.
Not an artist? That doesn’t mean I’m not interested. If you have a collaboration idea that fits my books, editing work, author platform, or creative community, send it my way.
Artwork commissioned from my offspring for the hefty price of motherly praise and several monster energy drinks.
Editing services
I offer affordable editing support for writers who want thoughtful, constructive feedback without losing the voice that makes their work theirs. Depending on the project, I may offer developmental feedback, line-level editing, or a combination of both. Availability and pricing vary by manuscript length and scope, so reach out with a little about your project and what kind of support you're looking for. I'll let you know whether I'm a good fit.
Something else in mind?
Not every good idea fits neatly into a category. If you have a question, proposal, creative idea, or something else you think I should hear, you're welcome to reach out. You can contact me directly here or through the contact form on the Home page.
